| Photoshop Experience: | Born and bred in New Zealand I began my career in 1993 aged 18 years within the digital pre-press trade as an apprentice high-end scanner operator. During this time I developed an extensive colour knowledge and where I was first introduced to the ‘Adobe Photoshop’ software and its endless capabilities. This grass-roots introduction to the print industry gave me an excellent understanding of colour and the colour separation process (RGB/CMYK) that plays a vital role in the retouching process. After discovering my passion for retouching I progressed through many advertising agencies and pre-press houses crafting my Photoshop skills before venturing freelance. I have been very fortunate to have worked closely with many talented, and internationally recognized art directors, photographers & publishers on this journey. This has led me to be involved on some exciting projects, further enhancing my skillbase. I am now based in New Zealand but since 2005 I have mainly been working in China, Hong Kong and Thailand. This has not only given me the opportunity to live and work within different cultures, but work alongside skilled professionals of all nationalities. |
